And that it's a monumental building with so much history. We visited VOCO The Hague IHG hotels during the summer period of August 2022 and we can assure you that this would be a perfect choice for your weekend in The Hague.

The concept
VOCO The Hague is a former bank that turned in to a stunning four star hotel in the heart of the city: The Hague. Voco The Hague is based in the Royal Quarter, where you will also find many shops, museums, restaurants and heritage sites. The entire concept of VOCO The Hague is based on quality bedding and eco-friendly amenities.
The rooms
We have had a lovely partnership, during July 2022, with VOCO The Hague. We were welcomed by manager Onno who explained so many details about the hotel and it was so amazing to hear how passionate he shares the details of the history of the building and the process of VOCO The Hague.
We slept in a 'Premium room'. It's a room that provides all the basic elements you need. We also, photographed one of their suites with a marvellous view, overlooking the centre and beautiful details within the interior. Find some of those details in our photos underneath. Also, when staying in VOCO The Hague, there is one thing to think of. Sleeping under sheets that are originally made from recycling plastic was our first time. If you are fond of sleeping with a breeze and a bit more chilly, than this is definitely something to consider before booking. We found this a bit more warmer than usual.
The food
Ultramarijn Cocktailbar
We were so disappointed that Ultramarijn wonder bar, didn't win the best cocktail awards of 2022. In our opinion, this is definitely an award winning place and here's why. We loved how good every single employee takes care of the customers and each other. They make sure everyone in the room feels well. Also, the concept of the cocktails are just so original and very tasty. Of course, they make traditional cocktails, but their signature ones are the best. Their honesty is something that really stands out when it comes to giving advice about which cocktail to choose. Additionally, we also loved the foods they serve here. Something to not miss out on, when you're heading over here to enjoy a cocktail or two!
Also , a special thanks for a great evening to Jono and Ruben, two talented shakers that create the best atmosphere in Ultramarijn.
Botanica restaurant
When we stayed in VOCO The Hague, we also enjoyed a selection of the dishes in Botanica Restaurant. It's a restaurant where they use local ingredients in their seasonal menu. Their coffees are freshly roasted and their eggs are from the best hen farm of The Hague. This is something that you can truly taste, in each dish. It's something to try out for yourself and than decide whether this is something for you or not.
However, we loved the desserts and lunch. Those sweet potato fries and lemon merengue where one of the greatest kinds we have ever had. The chocolate crumbles and ice cream next to the lemon merengue is a treasure for your senses.
The services
When we arrived at VOCO The Hague, we got a warm welcome from the receptionist and had a quick talk with Onno. It was lovely to arrive at such a beautiful hotel and being able to speak directly to the manager of the hotel. Everyone knew about our visit, also the restaurants and bar employees, which is always a very nice way to get around in a hotel during our stay. When staff is informed about us taking photos and videos everything goes so smoothly. We were able to ask everything and they were able to address every additional aspect they want to highlight of the hotel.
Overall, the staff of VOCO The Hague is very hospitable. If you are in need of any information about the surroundings of the hotel, restaurant recommendations or any other questions there was always someone who could assist you. The Location
As previously mentioned, the area of VOCO The Hague is surrounded by several restaurants, cafes, museums and heritage sites. The embassy quarter and Peace Palace are within walking distance. It's also possible to reach the train station by tram in just 9 minutes. If you're staying here during summer you definitely need to visit Scheveningen beach, which can be reached in 15 minutes by tram.
